Dr. Sunitha Chandrakumar
Raghuleela School of Music was established on February 1, 2003 in Mysuru. Dr. Chandrakumar, nurtured in a family steeped in musical tradition and trained in classical music as well as dance from an early age, was inspired by her esteemed gurus, Sri S. G. Raghuram and Smt. H. R. Leelavathi. She founded the school to honor their teachings and to create an institute that preserves the subtle nuances of Indian light music (and thus the name penned with admiration, ‘Raghuleela’)
Beginning with a modest focus on devotional and folk tunes—including the distinctive rhythms of Nagara Sankeerthane—the school has evolved to offer musical teaching that seamlessly blends traditional techniques with contemporary musical expressions.

Introduction of Gere Guruthina Thaala, a teaching technique developed exclusively to internalise our natural rhythm and connect it to that of music.

As an institute is dedicated to preserving Kannada music tradition and currently offers comprehensive education to 450+ students. Specialising in light music, the school has nurtured musicians and released over 50 albums since its inception in 2003.
